Architecture Made in Italy

Curator
Cristiana Pacchiarotti

This exhibition, organized by the Department of Culture of CNAPPC, is not for Italians: in fact, we hope that
it will be seen mostly outside our national borders.
We are well aware that Italian architectural design is highly appreciated all over the world. However, apart from a few celebrated names, it is not as well known
as we would like to believe. This is why the CNAPPC, and its Department of International, committed to promoting, in concomitance with the Government’s political and economic strategies, the international distribution of the work accomplished by our architects. Our creative excellences (particularly in the areas of sustainable urban regeneration, new technologies for smart buildings and neighborhoods, interior design

and conservation and restoration) continue to execute projects of great interest and, often, of extraordinary quality: if adequately communicated, this production
of architectural design may well function as a genuine multiplier of the acquisition of commissions in the international markets, particularly in rapidly developing countries, from the Middle east to China to the African continent. This must be done synergistically, in collaboration with construction firms and the entire Made in Italy production system. But along with the distribution of catalogues and the organization of exhibits that document the national production of

the past year, a series of agreements should also be stipulated, through our diplomatic network and the Italian Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and through the ICE-ITA, the Italian Trade Agency of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Our main goal is to further the internationalization of the work of our architects. We must increase awareness and recognition of our best projects, support and simplify the work of Italian professionals, promote the creation of mixed work groups, activate all the interactions that favor the success of our architects and offer assistance and consultancy to our members already working abroad or who intend to do so in the future. We have to work - together - for a better professional future.
